Review: The Psychoville Slashers - Bone Frappin' Blues E.P.
Band: The Psychoville Slashers
Album: The Psychoville Slashers
Review done by: Johnny Graves
Here's the lastest e.p. from Long Island's very own Psychoville Slashers. The band consist of a three piece.... The Hillbilly Bobcat -Lead Guitar and Vocals, Elvis Munster - Coffinbass and Vocals,
Eric - Drums and Growls. The first song "Double Shot" shows what the boys can do as well as their various influences in music, might I add that the bassist really gets down on this song and is a must hear if you get a chance. Track 2 "Gothic Sluts from Mars" has a cool intro mixed in with some hard vocals = very excellent song, the guitarist pulls off a really cool solo towards the end. "Country Mile" is one of those songs that you'd hear on your local country station, while not exactly but it sounds like it could be on there, I don't know that's just my opinion. Think whatever you want to think. I'm not very impressed with that song. Song #5 "Dyin' to Get In" is my favorite on the cd for 2 reasons, one is that it's pretty fast (which I think every psycho band should have) and the bass is slappin all over the place, then for added bonus the guitarist plays a really cool lead in the middle (What more can you want?)The last song "Bone Frapper" follows in the footsteps of "Dyin" but is much faster and has some cool guitar changes in it. The Psychoville Slashers are one of the coolest psycho bands in the U.S. mixing their psycho, country attitudes into one big pile of shit that really gets people going, well i know i got going, so that's always a good sign. If they keep going in the direction they are going, then they are sure to be mentioned with such bands as the Quakes, Demented Are Go, Nekromantix, Mad Sin. Go see them if you get a chance, I know if they came out West, I would go see them.
