Throw a dose of monster movies into a blender with The Cramps, The Misfits, and L7. Add a shot of jack, your favorite serial killer, and four wonder bras. What do you get? The Formaldebrides.
Since they emerged from their graves in March 2004, The Formaldebrides have creeped into the spotlight. Bringing a sense of humor to their love of all things macabre, songs like "Curse of the Wolfman's Woman" and "Beast Infection" have given the band a steadily growing cult of fans who have helped them pack clubs and kept their demo cd on the Steetlight Records best seller's list from it's release in 2004 to it's sellout in July, 2005.
The crunchy punk guitar of Lana Chaney, the dark steady pulse of Claudia Rain's bass, Isabela Lugosi's voodoo drums, and Doris Karloff's sultry growling give the Formaldebrides a sound all of their own.
Initially labeled as a psychobilly band, the brides have not shyed from challenging the genre's stereotypes replacing their upright bass for an electric. The end result is a dark, punk, voodoo style horror show you'll die to see. |
