When I was trying to get my girlfriend into psychobilly, I made her a mix CD of all female-fronted psychobilly (she's a feminist) and was bitterly disappointed with the cutesy poppy shit I came across putting it together.
As Diabatz, as far as I'm concerned are the only female psychobilly band going worth a listen (Dypsomaniaxe are great too, sadly no longer playing). The arrangements on this new EP are a little bit more complicated than their debut record, I'm not sure if that's a good thing yet but it's still head and shoulders above Creepshow, Mad Marge, Horrorpops et al.

Although I don't totally agree that they are one of the only female-fronted psychobilly bands worth listening to, I am down with the fact that they rock and their sound is beautifully kick-ass and stripped-down. |

I concede - I'd forgotten about The Eyelids, they're pretty decent. But As Diabatz are the only all-female outfit playing good "old-school" psychobilly as far as I'm aware. Why is that? I'm happy to be proved wrong on this. |

I do agree with that Snotty - they are probably the only really old-school-sounding psycho all female band out there that I know of. |
