Mutated Liquidators is Ukranian Psycho-band, The Poison Barís first album and I have been eager to review it. I am thrilled to be finally able to write this up.
The album has a lot going for it. Great lyrics, interesting beats and notably the use of the harp as a full fledged instrument (as opposed to a group like the cold blue rebels who have it added in from time to time). This adds an interesting flare, and with lyrics that sound as if they endorse being a scumbag, the best way to describe this album is by calling it what being covered in dirt and blood sounds like.
Notable favorite songs are Get the Fuck out of Here Boogie and Underground, as well as Crazy Rockabilly.
This is normally where I bitch about instrumentals in some form or another-but that is not going to happen here. The instrumentals on this album are good. Really, really good. I have both Thunderbird and Thunderbird Strikes Back on my mp3 player. Insomnia part I is alright, but I could have done without it. But we have instrumental bits I really like and this is something for sure.
The downsides of this album are that it is not available for download meaning you have to put out 14 bucks plus shipping. Thatís a good chunk of cash and cut into my music budget for a bit but its worth it. And while I like the instrumentals, three is still a bit much for me and while I donít have huge issues with non-english lyrics I wish there was a translation either in the songbook or online somewhere.
But these are small gripes for a great album thatís worth the order if you can get ahold of it.
