I am from Sydney Australia.
I dislike Californian Psychobilly as to me it is just Neo rockabilly but at the same time, some bands are doing this thing justice.
This is my band.

Hello.
Curious, which Californian psychobilly bands are you refering to? Most of the ones I have heard I would call more horror punk than rockabilly. |

| Hello and welcome. And I agree with Dan. It's more horropunk than anything else. I should know, I live in California. |

As far as who is playing proper psychobilly in America? Not much for bigger name stuff around here, most seems to be bands who don't get much exposure past their local scenes. A lot of the stuff out and about these days seems to be more in the range of the "dark roots" stuff. Kind of devil worshipping bluegrass type stuff.
For good American psychobilly though check out:
Sasquatch & The Sickabillys
Dead Bundy & The Neat Neat Neats
Los Gatos Locos
The Goddamn Gallows (Gutterbilly Blues album)
Al & The Black Cats
Drawing a blank at the moment, but those are just a few that spring to mind. Though seems every person defines psychobilly as something different... |

I apologise,
Even with this new thing called the internet You still get a very one sided view of other countries music.
I thought every psycho band in America wanted to be The Creepshow or tiger army.
Thankyou Dan, you changed my mind. |

So, wait... You thought every band wanted to be Creepshow or Tiger Army and yet you thought all of them were Neo-Rockabilly? To be honest I really don't hear much of any rockabilly in either of those bands. I would class the both as more punk bands than anything else. Or am I understanding you wrong? |

I would say Tiger Army are rockabilly.
All the sappy love chords and beautiful back vocals reminds me of the everly brothers http://youtu.be/m24uUzJgfwQ.
I agree that the creepshow are nowhere near rockabilly or psychobilly.
But I would say it comes down to personal opinion on this level. |
