Does anyone if a Rockabilly scene exists in Orlando anymore? I have been trying to find the "scene" here for at least a year and I came across a few cats at a Rumblers show but didn't get a chance to meet them before I had to leave.

Since then, I have gone to a ton of events and can't seem to find anyone. Well there were a few at a Reverend Horton Heat show but I think they were from out of town.

Maybe this is where you are going wrong. Around here, most venues don't allow pets in. I think most of them will allow guide dogs for the blind and whatnot but usually not any other types of pets.

Seriously, it really common for loads of rockabilly/psychobilly looking folk to come out to the bigger name shows but never come out to the locals. When Horrorpops came to town the venue was packed with people dressed to the T in leopard print and blond streaked pompadours who I have never seen at a show before and haven't seen since,

Now go post an intro.

Orlando, heh been to a few events and shows here and there. But I wouldn't consider myself Psychobilly at all, its something I like not what I am. But yea there was a lot of people at the Horrorpops show that I bet wouldn't even know who the fuck The Meteors are.

But I know Nekromantix show is coming at The Social
Then Backbooth is bringing The Rocketz and later on Blitzkid (I know these aren't psychobilly but still might find people who dig it there)

Try car shows too. I missed the Rumblers show this year, but last year was pretty fun. I don't know, I know a few people here and there who I always find at the same shows but thats normally the only time I see them.

Florida is very overrated in terms of Entertainment by the media, there really isn't much.

Theres been some interesting stuff comin outta Lake Worth. Not psychobilly, but more Americana/swamp/garage/etc... Far better than 80% of the shit comin outta here.

We are doing Swing Dance night/ Rockabilly nights once a month on a saturday at Stardust video and coffee.

There are a few pages on facebook that list all of the rockabilly events in orlando.
