Spike the singer of the Barnyard Ballers is leaving the band. The rest of the band will continue. Also Rob, the one that always wrote the lyrics and music, will continue the band. The band will have a new album in the near future called "When Pigs Fly".

Oh no. His voice was very cool though, I wonder how they'll sound with someone else singing?! Confused

It will be interesting to see how they pull this off. Rob lives in Seattle now for one thing, and as far as I knew he was only playing limited shows with them over the past few years. Well, he's a creative guy and a talented guitar player, so it may work. Even if they replace Spikes vocals though, as a front man they've got incredibly big boots to fill.

Yeah they do. I htink he's one of those people that really has his own style, and it really gave them their sound. But guess can only wait and see. Shame really.

I seen them in Hollywood a couple months ago, they know how to put on a damn good show. Does anyone know why Spike left?

I'm sad to hear that. I like this band, have them on my Ipod. I don't think it will be the same without him.

It's probably just too difficult for them to pull it off. spike is in Texas, Rob is in Seattle, the other 2 are in San Diego. Most likely it's just easier for Rob to continue with a new line up, being as he's the key songwriter and all. but who fucking knows, I'm just taking wild guesses.

Didn't think I'd read that today...or ever for that matter. I'd only be speculating on why he left. I can say already that it won't be Barnyard without Rich. Rob is great, but they were a team...

Howdy y'all- here is one of the ballers to clear up what is goin' on fer y'all.

Spike left to persue Pickled Punks. He moved to Texas and has been dedicating his time to them. He seemed to of lost all interest in Barnyard Ballers it seemed like. Also, as some may know, Ricky got married and left earlier last year, but returned to play the final show with Spike at the Hollywood Showdown. Plus, with all the members living in different states (correction to earlier statement, only one lived in San Diego by this point, which was Ricky. Both Rob and I reside in the Northwest), it became increasingly more difficult to keep things rollin' completely with Spike doing his thing in Texas.

Rob and I have been working on the material, to include new material. And to answer the nice young lady's question, no, Spike is not the singer on the new Album. We will be making a formal announcement here very soon on the whole state of the band, to include who the new singer is. We will say this- The new singer is extremely similar to Spike's style and has just as much energy on stage as him, plus there is a rad twist to it all. We wouldn't want to disapoint y'all!!! We plan on appearing this summer with the new line-up and working on some tour options, to include Europe next year.

Thank you for the support y'all and hope to see y'all out at the shows!

Kory C.
Bassist for Barnyard Ballers

Spike did leave the band but we will continue on without him. He officially quit recently but has not contributed to the band in years. Now I get a fresh start. Kory will join me on bass. A drummer is still needed. There is a new cd written and recorded. It has me on guitar and vocals, Ricky on drums(orig drummer) and Kim Nekroman on bass. I'm still looking for a label but will have it available for download from cdbaby.com soon. I just need artwork. You can hear some new songs at myspace/barnyardballers. It will be called "When Pigs Fly" and will contain of all things a Spice Girls cover. Hope we can keep you all as listeners. Rob Kwait
