So far one of my favourite psychobilly bands that are still around, I don't know many though.
When I first bought the album, it was $6 from the local JB HiFi. It took me a while to warm up to it. I was used to a different sounding voice, as I said, I haven't been into psychobilly that long. But then I started to really listen and founded listening to it incredibly fun. The lyrics are great and the general feel of the album's really good.
Favourite Songs:
1. Life Is A Grave And I Grave And I Dig It
2. Rot In Hell
3. Horny In A Hearse
4. Cave Canem
5. Flowers Are Slow

'Curse of the Coffin' and 'Return of the Loving Dead' are better Nekromantix albums in my opinion, you should check them out if you're into Kim's mob.

Very strong album, agreed with you Graveyard Stomp on first 3 favorite tracks. Plus I would add "Anaheim Afterdark" and "Voodoo Shop Hop" to the top 5 list.

I guess if you liked this album you should check their other ones. As Monstermash suggested "'Return of the Loving Dead" and "Curse of the Coffin" are definitely worth listening, as well as "Demons are the Girl's Best Friend" and "Brought Back to Life"... Probably only "Hellbound" and "Dead Girls Don't Cry" are nothing special, imo

I only listened to this one once through cuz we had a promo copy back when I worked at a record store, and it just bored me. Same with Dead Girls Don't Cry. Brought Back to Life is my favorite. The backing vocals on that one are a perfect compliment to Nekromans.

what did i say about the other thread? it applies here too.

not only because this is a pretty 'old' album now, and it was nothing to write home about when it was released was it.

what i said applies too.

why are you so bothered about people reviewing bands/albums you don't like, Tabs?

either just don't read these threads, or post some reviews for the stuff you do think we should be discussing.

you know a lot of stuff, i bet you could do some decent reviews.

its not that i'm 'bothered' about bands that i 'dont like' i just dont really consider these releases to be relevant. just an opinion, like anyone elses. i dont read most threads.

clever of you to end in a vague compliment! haha. i dont think anyone's going to be interested in me writing any reviews, especially whats going round on my record players lately. i'm not a particularly expressive writer since leaving school, and since going back into education and having to do heaps of academic writing i have neither the ability, time or any particular inclination if i'm honest.

so, there's a convoluted answer to a probable rhetoric question that nobody is interested in my response to. case in point!

It's not a brilliant release imo, but neither is it a terrible release....personally I prefer their earlier stuff....although "Return of the loving dead" has some belting tunes on it!.

I haven't heard this one. But I do like a couple of their orlder releases. Agree about 'Return of the Loving Dead' as well.
Also think if it's classed as psychobilly then any record should be reviewed up here. It's a music forum, we're talking about music. Even if sometimes it's shitty. Laughing

Yup, in total agreement that Return of the Loving Dead is a cracker of an album.

To me this one and the debut record are the weakest Nekromantix albums. There are some very good songs on this one, but also some fillers. And I think it is pretty obvious that the guitarist/back-up singer, can't really fill out Peter's shoes... Hope the next one will be stronger Wink
