Fury Records, release 1991
Production quality aside this is my favorite DAG album. I think this release captured the overall concept of Demented Are Go best of all. It was a slight departure from the more furious Kicked Out Of Hell with a slower more blues driven sound, but it really ventured into the more psychotic realm that the band would be famous for. I think the only missing ingredient to making this album a perfect recipe is Graham Grant. The Hendrix inspired guitar playing of Lex Luther hit the nail on the head throughout this release for me, and Mark's vocals were still gritty yet less distorted than in the earlier Demented volumes. Conceptually, the album flowed from one song to the next perfectly in a somewhat hypnotic cadence. It was a bit of a departure from the recognizable psychobilly cliche's that the scene was so used to, and it may have cost them some fans, moving in a slower, heavier, darker, and more hard rock oriented direction. It really, for me, defined what hillbilly rock and roll would sound like if the ones playing it were truly a bit demented. It captured what Demented Are Go could truly be.
My favorite tracks from the album are House of Blood, a perfect example of their potential as songwriters, Beast in the Cellar, One Sharp Knife, and Who Put Grandma Under The Stairs (Mark's best vocals ever on that last one)
tracks...
1 Orgasmic Nightmare
2 Beast In The Cellar
3 House Of Blood
4 Now She's Dead
5 Clitoris Bite Boogie
6 Love Is Like Electrocution
7 One Sharp Knife
8 Who Put Grandma Under The Stairs?
9 Love Seeps Like A Festering Sore
10 Nightlife
11 Anal Wonderland
12 Demon Angel
13 Straight Jacket
Right, so there's my review of a classic. Let the abuse begin. |

This was the first psychobilly album I bought as a new release.
Loved it then, still spin it occasionally now. |

| Great Review, I haven't listened to this album in awhile. I may have to dig it up today and give it a listen. |

Agree with almost everything in this review. Except that I thought that Kicked Out of Hell is the bluesier sounding record.
One of my favorite albums by my all-time favorite psychobilly band. Personal favorite tracks are Now She's Dead and Love Seeps Like A Festering Sore. |

| Absolutely excellent album. I remember buying it when it first came out and it blew me away, I thought it was the best DAG release at the time, still think it is one of their best releases. |
