Alternative Country at his best with the Spirit of Punk and Rockabilly. A Compilation in the spirit of Johnny Cash and artists who represent true Rock'n'Roll. Handmade. Powerful. Strong. Deep. From the Soul!
With the American Recordings Johnny Cash sets the mark and beginning for the connection between Country and the Alternativer Music-Scene. But also Artist like Mike Ness from Social Distortion, who are coming from Punk Rock, had show their love to Country Music.
This here is no shitty Pop-Country, like many people think what Country Music sound. This here is Roots-Musik, bounded with the Spirit from Punk Rock and Rockabilly.
With this Compilation we represent the best Alt.Country Bands of this world. For sure many are from the USA/Canada, but also from Australia, Germany, Norway and England we found wonderful Artists.
Many of the the Songs are previous unreleased or not available in Europe. With this Compilation Wolverine Records shows again, that they have a good sense to compile the ebst Compilations!

What we need is some kind of filter to weed out screen names that contain Greaser, Zombie, Switchblade and Bettie. The world would be a better place.
But probably not half as much fun. |
