I just saw the Koffin Kats about a month ago and got a CD after the show, being a casual listener who didn't have any of their CDs at the time. This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Not a single song I don't like on it (aside from the bonus track of someone throwing up, seriously?). Are the rest of their albums as good? 10 out of 10 |

You seriously don't like the Koffin Kats? They put on one of the best shows I've ever been to. They have the best stage presence I've ever seen at a show (I know, theres another forum for that rant). But yeah, I love that they do something different with their guitars. Don't get me wrong, I love psychobilly guitar, but they're way more technical than most. But yeah, Drunk in the Daylight is probably in my top 5 psycho records now. |

We saw them last year & really enjoyed watching them, they're way too heavy for most Psychobillies, especially the ones who grew up listening to Rockabilly / Neo Rockabilly & the early Psychobilly bands...BUT they put on a great show & were nice guys too, I bought their "Inhumane" c.d at the gig.....that's not too bad. |

ive heard one Koffin Kats track (V8 Nightmare). was alright. sounded like the Misfits with an upright bass but i like the Misfits so thats okay.
they pulled out of their uk tour at the start of this year due to visa troubles so im yet to see them live.
seem to be big in the US though. |

They're coming back over this summer, but i don't think they're playing anywhere in the northwest or midlands. I got offered the chance to put them on again, but it seemed a bit of a gamble after the events of last time so declined. They're playing Rebellion if you're going there this year? |

I've seen 'em here live a few times, but this was over 6 years ago and at that time, I wasn't impressed. Dunno what they're like now, 'cause I just didn't bother anymore with 'em.
Alot of people do like them here though. |

They're one of the rare bands where you can clearly tell that they're all best friends, which makes their stage presence just amazing. |

I don't think its a rare for members of a band to be all close friends. I could be wrong, but seems most bands are all close mates. You don't want to really start a band up with people you hate or just kinda like.
I think they're highly overrated though. IMO. |

I would agree with that Uana, how the fuck can you make music and tour with people you hate? |

Not really a big fan of these guys but I did have them headline the car show I did a month ago and was pretty impressed by their performance. Their music is not really my cup of tea, but they put on a great show and I really enjoyed what I saw of it. Nice guys too. |

Because I wanted to give my review of the new Koffin Kats CD, and find out if anyone else could tell me how their other CDs are. |

maybe cos there aren't rules for this forum that say you should only talk about bands that everyone here agrees they like?
like em or not (i havent heard enough to form a real opinion) they are a band who seem to be becoming pretty popular right now, so this probably won't be the last time they get mentioned here.

yeah on the Thursday i believe. i'm not going til Friday though, im not so curious about this band that i'd pay for an extra night's accomodation so i could see them.
they'll be round again eventually and i'm sure i'll catch them then and see how they hold up as a live band. |
