Havnt really been on here in a while, done a search and couldnt find much on this...
So, Hell Train Rollin has been out for a while now and no one has really discussed it?! ( and I thought this woz a psychobilly forum...... )
So what do y'all reckon?
Got to admit its made me love Hymns much more than I did, dont get me wrong I fuckin love Hell Train, theres some real nasty fuckers on it!
Gotta say I think Creepy really is an instant classic, cant think of anything theyve done that is quite like it
And your thoughts are? |

I've only heard bits of it. What I've heard is all you'd expect from them.
I've listend to all of Hymns a good bit, when it first came out. Some tracks on there I like alot, some so so, as with any album from ANY artist.
To be honest, and this is ONLY MY OPINION...I haven't liked anything as much that came out AFTER These Evil Things.
I'm not saying the other stuff hasn't been good, because it has been. But I loved These Evil Things so much, it's hard to top that one, for me.
They're brilliant, and their cd's are always worth getting, but I think it's like that with a few bands for me-they have one that's so good, nothing else tops it. |

Oh don't get me wrong, don't think there's naything wrong with 'em either. Just These Evil Things is still top of my list is all, and it's hard for me NOT to compare all after releases to it. That make sense? |

Undoubltly it is very strong album. For me it is sequel of the "Psychobilly" and the "Hymns".
My favorites are "Down and Dirty", "Cut by Cut Slice by Slice", "Hate Train", "If that's the Way You Want It", of course "Creepy" and the best one - "Pure Evil".
I'd rate "Hell Train" on the same level as "Hymns", but not as great as "Psychobilly". There are no tracks that give the same mad feelings as "Fuck lika a Beast Fight Like an Animal", "King Vlad", "Wolfjob" or "I Hate People", but I keep on listening.
Also it seems to me that some songs from the album could've been on mr. Fenech's solo stuff or on the LRD album. I mean it's becoming harder to make distinction between Meteors and PPF solol stuff. |

Haha! It always makes me laugh when people talk about The Meteors on here... Whenever anybody says any opinion they always have to defend it and put little disclaimers in to stop getting slated by some OTMAPP nazi. Makes me fucking roll...
Greg got the album a few days back so I'll try and borrow his copy and give it a listen. See if it's worth buying...

Not defending my opinion at all. Just said it that way 'cause everyone gets their fucking knickers in a twist if they think you said something Meteors was shit.
But I guess I don't really care to be honest. |

I prefer pretty much every other M3T3ORS release to this one , I've listened to it a few times now & just can't seem to get into it at all , maybe it's one of those that you come back to after 6 months, listen to it again & love it!. |

Ah gotcha!
I like what John said, he phrased it better than I did. I mean, there's a few tracks that I've heard that I really liked alot, the rest just didn't do it for me. Hymns was the same though, didn't like that one almost at all. Maybe one or two tracks that I really really liked and the rest I'm not bothered about ever hearing again.
And before anyone has a rant , I'm not cutting down the artists in any way. Just different than what I expected and I didn't take to it. |
