I've only ever met one "psycho" from toronto.

She saw my meteors wrecking crew shirt and claimed she was a part of the toronto psychobilly wreckin crew then asked me if there was any connection. I hope the rest of the TPWC aren't this stupid.

I have met some cool people from toronto who enjoy psycho, but are more into rockabilly. Also have met some good people into rockabilly and psychobilly in london ontario as well.

Seanzi, I couldnít have said it better myself. I was once optimistic that Psychobilly could get a decent following here (as in Wpg) but it seems that lately all weíve been getting are the very bands youíve described; a primarily punk clone with a far too little collection of actual psychobilly influences.

I havenít heard anything that really impressed me lately, but then again Iíve been rather detached. I was hoping that when I move to Toronto it would restore some faith but the two of you kind of killed that for me now o.0

I donít see the Toronto crowd bothering me much though, as I was never into the social aspect of shows. Iím there for the music.

My band is gonna be playing the Cadillac Lounge in TO on May 16th with Gunsmoke from Ottawa. Hopefully they'll somewhat restore your faith in Canadian Psychobilly.

Couldnt agree with you guys more. What bothers me about all these new "zombie this and zombie that" bands, is that their music and fans are turning people off of psychobilly by making the musical themes cliche and the fashion cheesy. There is nothing psycho about psychobilly anymore. When I first heard PVC Chair by DAG when I was maybe 15 or so, I had no idea what psychobilly was or what this band looked like, but I do remember thinking, these guys must really be mental by the sounds of this song. I don't get that feeling anymore. Most "psycho" bands today seem to get their inspiration from those Goosebumps books, Goosebumps-abilly perhaps? That's not to say that you need to have horror themes to play psychobilly or anything, but that's what it seems to be about these days. There's no more substance to any songs at all anymore, which is why so many people I know don't take psychobilly seriously.

By the way Sean, great seeing last night and great show!

Pretty sure you're from Toronto right? I don't know about all of Canadas scene sucking, but I know Toronto's isnt that great. Montreals not too bad. We have alot of 'abilly bands around here like Gutter Demons, The Brains, Bloodshot Bill, The Cockroaches, The Pandemics, Devils Hotrod, Hypnophonics, Hellbound Hepcats etc. Sure there's alot of fashionabillys but you only see them if the Rev. or Tiger Army come to town not at anything actually good, so it doesnt bother me too much. From what everyone tells me, Edmonton has a great scene and Vancouvers is small but good too I hear. And I know Im glad to be in Montreal because it seems half of Canada's psycho/rockabilly bands seem to come from here. So there's often weekly Psycho nights here and shows all the time.
