It won't be hard to annex if needed.

They're not America Junior. They're America's hat.

Yeah, and Canada is in North America, Jack. Wink

we do hate being referred to as americans though. until they come up and annex us (which will be sooner rather than later) the term canadian is appreciated.

Canada is America junior, deal with it.

that remains to be seen. you could learn plenty from us about taking care of your own. health care is an issue that first comes to mind... and at least we have a middle class.

Don't get a snotty nose about it Sweetums. You're talking about national health care and things of the like. That falls under the category of politics. There is a sticky about said topic. Read it and stop whining. Who the fuck are you anyway? Of course you're here for your own entertainment, You're not entertaining me in the slightest. If I wanted to discuss and read about politics, religion, or anything that falls under those categories I wouldn't be on The Wreckingpit. I'd just walk out my front door and talk to 85% of my towns population. I'm here because I don't have to hear about it when I am.

Slick Pelt was a fun damn band that put out two records:
Hell From the Hills
XXX Rodeo.

I believe they were from New York state. Never got to see them play. Only way I ever heard of them, is found Hell From the Hills in a second hand thrift store and thought it looked like something I might like, just based on the cover. Played the hell out of it. They had a small webpage on the interwebs before the facespace days. Bought XXX Rodeo off the interwebs when it came out ... Then they just kind of went away. Both are really fun records. Pick 'em up if you happen to run across them.

Also ...
I would like to take the opportunity to put in a plug for Nashville's own ... Hillbilly Casino. They play a variety from rockabilly, country, honky tonk to hard drinkin' rock'n'roll. They tour extensively and may be coming to a town near you. Check 'em out if you get the chance, a good time will be had. If you've seen them before, then you already know ... and probably waiting to catch 'em again. One of Nashville's hardest working bands, one of the few that this town has produced that are worth a fuck. No, I am not in the band.

Hillbilly Casino is fucking rad. It's been a couple years since they've last been up this way though. Well over due.

Hell, yeah, Dan. When they're not out of town, they have the Friday night spot downtown at Layla's, one of Nashville's esteemed honky tonks. Four and a half to five hours at a stretch. They play a lot of covers when it's tourist season, when the tourists leave in the fall, they play for the locals. The vast array of songs that they can belt out is damn impressive. Everything from Hank Williams Sr ... Nick Curran ... to the Cramps. Then they have their own originals. They have three self produced albums out:

Three Step Wind-up
Sucker Punched
Tennessee Stomp

Having seen them, you know what they do when they play out. Always a good time, f'sure.

... and fuckin' Unknown Hinson ...
... Southern Culture On the Skids!

Listening to 'Ditch Digging'' at the moment. Definitely one of the most under appreciated bands going. Both hail from Chapel Hill, North Carolina ... must be something' in the water up there, hey?
