There is little to be had here. Few upright players, some skilled guitarists with little interest in psychobilly. People who know what it is, but have little interest in, you know, playing it.

I want to be in a band in a baaaaaaad way, but I can't find anyone with the desire/knowhow to play psychobilly or any of its related pursuits. Everyone wants to play hardcore and punk-crap. Not a shit is given to my 'billy bretheren.

Now, I'm a tolerant fellow. I have many and varied musical interests. But this scene ain't enough to keep me busy or even in a state of momentary amusement. A total lack of musicality; too much is it loud, distorded, too fast, too tough, too affected. It doesn't make me move the way so much psychobilly does. Fuck.

But, amidst all of this, I hope to possibly start a psychobilly fire in Sacramento County when I start college this September! Hahaha! Something loud, fast, ugly, cool, sexy...and just a bit silly.

Does anyone here not like their scene? Because people are all telling me, "go to shows, get aquainted with people, don't dress like a ninja, ect" and it's pretty damned hard when you feel alienated by all of the drinking, smoking, and the shows cost $15 dollars to get into when you make $400/month frying donuts and have $300/month rent. Being young sucks. And not being a native to punk and this sort of thing makes it worse.

Why am I an outsider to my local scene? Because I fucking cannot stand it.

Anyhow, whine whine whine, bitch bitch bitch I suppose. Moneyt talks, bullshit walks. And I'm rich with music and ideas. So, I ask all of you who I assume are my seniors in all things Psycho and Billy, what should I do to give my scene a psychobilly shot in the arm?

Try getting one of the local punk promoters to put a smallish psycho band on one of their shows & se what the reaction is ?! ~ if the punk crowd get to see a decent psycho band play , they'll sit up n listen & wanna see more !?

All of us are to the wire on money, there is never enough. Do what you can afford, & make friends with people instead of judging them. You may be surprised.

Please, tell me how can you hate a 'scene' that you have admitted to being an outsider in?
