Well incase you all don't see it under the "live" section here is the poster for the show...I had to move the venue to the El Mocambo to hold the crowd that's coming....hope I see a lot of you out there to support this amazing talent!!!

Anyone else go to this?
I thought the Gutterdemons were fucking amazing! I thought the crowd seemed somewhat lame, not much of a pit. I think that guy with "flying fists" kinda scared a lot of people. And I'm pretty sure he broke one guy's nose and gave him a concussion. Also there were a lot of girls in the frontal area and I don't think some of the bigger guys wanted to risk hurting them (not that they weren't tough or anything. Anyway, I didn't go in, call me a wuss or whatever but I didn't want to risk another concussion/braindamage. And I just got out of the hospital a little while ago, so I was being cautious. And I didn't feel like getting hit in the head with someones beer bottle. Near the middle of the set the pitt got bigger and wilder. Also the gutterdemons were the only band I could understand, the mic seemed really quiet and everything else seemed really loud.
The Threat was ok, they were more of a hard rock band than a punk band IMO. The girl singer seemed to have a 'Courtney Love' thing going on...
The Creepshow was very good. She has a good voice. They were more psycho and a lot less pop than I thought they were. And the guys upright was pretty cool looking.
The Secret Handshake/Milkshake/Rattlesnake/etc...well...I think they were a comedy band...but I'm not sure...the singer tried to yodel, and I think one of their songs was about Ang Lee/Brokeback Mountain...
Anyway, Gutterdemons are about 100000000000000 times better live. And hey, i finally got their first album, pretty happy about that. Got to listen to them on the 400 while I tried to not fall asleep. I was pretty tired. |
