At the moment there are no ads on the site. I got banned by google.
Here's a sample of what they don't like:

I can do several things now. Delete all the discussions about sex and nudity or other things on the forum that google don't like. Or I can not have ads on the forum. But this will cost me some money. What do you think?

anyway, just delete all the sexual content. sex has nothing to do with psychobilly anyway, that's why there are no sexy people playing it.

I believe that deleting offensive topics is a hard piece of work that can a lot of time. And maintaining forum clean from sexual content and FUCKING rude words is even harder Smile

Hence, I would stick with donate option - I'm sure psychobillies are generous people, and if 10% f the visitors of the werckingpit.com site will donate 5 pennies per year it'll be enough to cover the costs of the hosting, domain name, etc...

It is up to you as it is your site, but I see no issues with cleaning it up a bit. As Boozey said, sex and tits don't have much to do with the music fun as they may be. If that is the stance you take I have no problem cleaning up the sections I moderate.

If it came down to donations, I would throw in as I could as well.

Do both....clean it up a little. And add a donation.

A car site I'm part of does that. It's clean on the front end, and with donation we become a site contributor, and get access to additional forums, which get significantly grimier, with only one rule, fight club rule, whatever is there stays there. It's pretty cool. Works out pretty well Very Happy

Do what you can to keep the ads, it's easy money, but also keep in mind that the "searchability"of the threads is hands down the best aspect of the site. Brings in a lot of lurkers, even if they dont post.

Ok, well maybe we should start with getting rid of all the adult content then. Not that it will be much. If it doesn't work I will make the forum add free and the rest of the site with adds. The adds usually earn me a little more than the server cost, so I don't think I need donations yet!

Yeah, clean it up a bit. Hate that you had that going on. Boozey was sayin' last night.

Oh I also deleted over 100 users with spammer links. Never posted anything, but I still want them off the forum.

why not just delete the entire 'sweet, sweet lovin'' part? it never served any purpose anyhow....and i'm betting that's where most of the crap is.
