The Brains' latest album is somewhat hard to make a formal decision on. The band has a long history of pumping out lots of great songs, and they do the same here with "Drunk Not Dead," "Take What I Want," and "06 Rounds" being the best 3 songs of the album as a whole. There are also a lot of other good songs, and no individual song is disappointing. That's the good news.
The bad news is that they all sound a bit the same. I understand the need to have a different pattern/uniqueness to each album and for a band to have a signature sound but this album just takes it too goddam far. If they mixed things up a little more this album could have been fantastic.
The other thing that this album shows is the complete mastery of the brains' unique sound. This is one to skim through on itunes before picking up in whole. You will find some great songs on here, but it might not be worth picking up as a whole to some people.
it give me a lot of hope and nervousness for the band. This could be a turning point towards disappointing repetitiveness. OR it could be the point where now that they have mastered their sound they go out and make some crazy stuff that will be unbelievable.

I'm a pretty big fan of these guys and i don't know to many bands that have released so many albums in such a short period of time and still hold strong with their sound.
I personally think they actually took abit of a departure from their usual Zombie or Horror theme. Which i think is fucking awesome.
I can easily listen to this album and not skip a single song... the albums hold true, like pretty much all their albums!
