I have to say that Forever for hire is a decent album. Instruments played well and really in tune with each other. On the other hand, I can't say that it's a great psychobilly album. I think they should go back to the Inhumane sound. That (as well as their self titled album) was the closest they came to psychobilly, and even that is still debatable. Straying from the Pack is a very appropriate title because that is when they decided to stray from psychobilly and go towards metal and horror rock. drunk in the daylight was more metal/horror rock and Forever for hire is more of the same in that aspect.

I actually disagree with this statement quite a bit. While still not being traditional psychobilly, I feel like Forever For Hire reins in the metal tendencies of Drunk In The Daylight quite a bit and returns to the sound of Straying From The Pack. Personally, I thought this album had a number of great songs on it. Nostrovia had a really interesting use of traditional Russian chord progressions. Small Block & Flathead has the greasiest guitar riff I've heard on a Koffin Kats album since their self-titled. Basically, if you like the Koffin Kats (which I do), you'll like this album. Even if you hated Drunk in the Daylight (which of a lot of my friends did). And if you don't like the Koffin Kats, this one sure won't change your mind. It's very true to the hybrid sound they developed over their first 3 albums.
I'm a koffin kats fan and i loved the first three albums/eps. 'Drunk in the day light' took me ages to like .. and even now i'll only skip between 3 songs or so. 'Forever for hire' i found to be pretty average. It has some good tunes but a whole lot of ordinary ones also.
Its not so much the change in sound..i just think the songs aren't as catchy as they were on the earlier albums.. but hey thats just my opinion!
