I listened to a preview on the net... (They did some streaming playlit thing on Facebook). Not keen at all.

Add to that the fact that the whole album was (according to one of their websites) written and produced with 'the fact that Rev. Horton Heat's fans respond best to humourous country and western songs' in mind...

Really? Shocked

I love the first few Rev. albums. After 'Revival' I was hoping this would be a raw, rocking return to form. I'm really disappointed.

yeah, one poor album after another by the rev of late.. crazy ex boyfirend proves that theyre scrapin the scrapings of an already rather scraped barrell.. theres you tube footage of them playin' that tune back in about 1990.. so why did they wait 9 albums to record it?? cos theyve ran right out of ideas..thats why!

The Rev is still a huge draw out here in The States and live they are awesome. However, I bought this CD and its not one of my favorites.
The vocals on the tracks in my opinion are not as strong as previous releases.

I don't necessarily like it better than his other stuff, but I think its great. Just different. Every once in a while I'm listening to one of his other CDs and then Eat Steak or something similar comes on and I wish I could just listen to some stuff like that, and now I can.

I liked it. Can't compare it to much to the good old albums but i though this new one was cool in its own right.

I don't dislike the album, but it's not one of my favorites.

Regardless, all of you have to agree it's better than Revival! Ugh, what an atrocity!

Wow, congrats. You've proven your individuality. I'll set off some fireworks tonight in your honor.

No I proved my individuality a long time ago, you were too busy giving out your opinion to notice, glad you caught up now though.

And I do actually like Revival, as a standalone album its good, I don't think it fits well with the rest of the stuff the Rev has done, but I don't think its an atrocity, especially when compared to the christmas album.

I definitely wouldn't slate 'Revival'... I enjoyed that album. There are plenty of good, rocking tunes on there. 'Indigo Friends' being my personal favourite. There are some songs that miss the mark but overall I'm keen on it.

Incidentally, I got 'Laughin' and cryin' for xmas. I've given it a listen and may be back soon to render a refreshed verdict once I've given it some more spins.
