It is hard to believe a band that played their first gig only a few short months ago could come out with an album so quick, but they did, and it rocks.

From the get go, Make Your Move pulled me in. Opening up with an infectious drum beat, leading into the swaggering Dead End Bitch I could not keep my feet still. Every track had me bouncing in my seat from the energetic stomp of Devil Radio to the slower, haunting Forbidden. This is not sit on your ass, toe tapping music, this is rock and roll meant for moving. Wrecking, swing dancing, whatever, it compels you to keep moving from start to finish.

Reckless Ones do not follow traditional formula of classic rockabilly, nor today’s “play as fast as you can” school of psychobilly. They play something closer to the neo-rockabilly that emerged in the 70’s-80’s revival, without cliché content that was typically represented in the lyrics of the period. No pink Cadillac’s, no zombies, no songs about their hair just rock and roll. 8 songs, all originals, not a loser in the bunch.

With a debut album this good, great things are sure to follow. I for one am really really excited.

Favorite: Forbidden. It is the slow one yes, but it sticks in my head and Kris and I like to dance to it at the shows

Least Favorite: Reckless Ones. Not a big fan of theme songs, still a good song, just not my favorite.

Reckless Ones debut album Make Your Move to be release July 25th

I was standing next to the drummer and bass player at the Quakes show in Chicago. Small world.

Also, bass players from the Corpse Show Creeps. Those guys are awesome. I'm liking what I hear from the Reckless Ones.

Yeah, both the bass player and drummer were in Corpse Show Creeps. Bit of a different style from that band.

Just got the CD and its great. A little disapointed that its only eight tracks, especially when I've already heard five of them so many times. Still a great album though.

Yeah, it is a great album. The length of it is my only complaint as well. Still not bad for a band less than a year old.

I like these guys, looking forward to seeing them in Derby on Halloween. I'm pretty sure I'll pick up a copy of this then.
