Psychomania fanzine NO.6
Johnny Vulture At Club Nightmare
Jungle Records
Everyone thinking that Johnny Vulture is a new band is wrong. This is a split CD of the Danes around Johnny Nightmare and the Finns of Vulture Club. Every band contributes 3 new tracks. Johnny Nightmare seamlessly followed on their debut album. Singer Thomas Meier managed to transfer all the power of the old Godless Wicked Creeps into the new millenium, 3x Danish power and Psychobilly of top class. Vulture Club is certainly a cool band. Their voice reminds me of the old Small Town Pimps/Spinballs things. Strong little voice, the music really rocks, a band with potential. Anyhow, these 3 tracks don't excite me too much yet, but the band is still at its beginning of their band history.

Johnny Vulture - At Club Nightmare
Released by Jungle Records
This is a split EP record between Johnny Nightmare (with ex-Godless Wicked Creeps member) from Denmark and Vulture Club from Finland.
They have three songs each. Johnny starts off the nightmare with
exploding slap bass, drums and shredding guitar. "Vultures Above - Hell Below" explores skill levels that can be appreciated by any music lover. This is a good appetizer for the coming of the second Johnny Nightmare full length album. Vulture Club is a different kind of Psychobilly
not heard in the States often a breath of fresh music. Singer Corpus
Brutus has a unique voice that results in a more entertaining style. The Vulture Club has a very thick psycho killer sound. Johnny doesn't dissappoint the No Bull Shit Psychobilly title they so proudly carry. Overall a kill feeling, blood in the air, type of album. A good one to have before a murder date. Now GO Get it and die!

Strong little voice?
I´m really glad that we did this ep together, cause you guys are awesome... as a band and as a individual persons. Hope to see you again somewhere sometime, man. As I said, I like your part more also. Cheers.
At least here in Finland people seemed to have been a bit disappointed to our 3 tracks on this ep. Maybe they expected something different after Roadkill Cafe, dunno. I´m not all satisfied with the way our songs turned out... lack of energy can be heard. The man from Jungle Records told that it´s selling good...Shit happens and the reputation grows. Still love to play those songs on stage... well, except for the Dead Champagne which we won´t do... such an emo theme
Sometimes we suck ass, but ass can be good every once in awhile |
